On June 30, 2003 Eternal Reefs joined with the state of Florida and Manatee County to build a new Memorial Reef for fishing and diving one mile off of Anna Maria Island, Florida. This reef was cast on May 20, 2003 to memorize a number of individuals who have passed away, and includes the remains of twenty-one of those people .
We especially would like to thank the Manatee County Department of Natural Resources - Bob Fluke, and The Flying Fish Fishing Charters.
(Due to difficulties with our camera equipment, we only have pictures of the viewing. We are working with our families to obtain more pictures of the other events. )
Family and friends come to say good by.
Brother and friend stand by to see the start of a new life as a reef.
Rubbings of the plaque and
writing a final message goodbye...
A brother is proud to show the rubbing of the Community Plaque.
Families make rubbings of the Memorial Plaques as keepsakes.
A whole family says goodbye to a fine man, father, grandfather and friend.
A favorite scarf brought back by the mother from her trip to Egypt, joins her one last time.
The messages...
One last word goodbye. Because it makes us feel good...
